“If hurricanes could play music, they’d sound something like North Carolina’s Tan and Sober Gentlemen... They make music that’s a mix of moonshine and rocket fuel. It’s wild and free bluegrass mated with punk rock. Incorporated with unabashed Gaelic influence, they thrive from a hammer-down style."

We’re back at the Haw River Ballroom!
We’re comin’ back home to Saxapahaw, NC for our usual breakneck redneck chaos and an honest-to-God party. Expect Irish tunes played too fast, bluegrass played too loud, fiddles screaming, banjos (and prosthetic legs) flying, and a whole room full of folks dancing, shouting, and singing their hearts out. This one’s for the faithful, the curious, and anyone ready to raise hell the right way.
NEW ALBUM OUT NOW
Live at the Haw River Ballroom
In winter 2024 we recorded a live album at the Haw River Ballroom in our home of Saxapahaw, NC. We recorded at full speed, no retakes, with all the energy and joy we could muster. We think this is the best representation of how it feels to be at a Tan and Sober show to date, hope you enjoy!
